Bodeux Presents at AT62 – the 62nd Annual Conference of the American Translators Association: Proofread Like a Pro and Ship It Express

On October 28, 2021, Eve Lindemuth Bodeux, CT, presented Proofread Like a Pro and Ship It Express: Effective and Efficient Quality Control for the Time-Strapped Language Professional, with Emily Safrin, CT,  at the 62nd Annual Conference of the American Translators Assocation. The conference took place in Minneapolis, MN. The live presentation had an in-person audience as well as online attendees.  It was assigned a unique hashtag that was used by attendees during the presentation: #ATA62ProofreadLikeAPro

The presentation abstract read as follows: In a world of increasingly tight deadlines, how do we ensure our translations get the quality control they deserve? Learn how to boost your proofreading process by leveraging both human and automated approaches to ensure a top-notch final product. This session will provide an overview of the proofreading task and introduce indispensable tools such as macros, text-to-speech, PerfectIt, and more, that will help foolproof your process and save precious time. Using examples from their own work, the speakers will address the use of checklists and style sheets and share resources for the proofreader extraordinaire.

Attendees were enthusiastic and gave positive feedback as well as sharing their own tips and tricks. Emily and Eve were also invited to reprise their presentation for the NCTA, the Northern California Translators Association.
