I am preparing a presentation for the Vendor Management Seminar in Las Vegas organized by IMTT and MWS. The title of my presentation is Vendors and You: A Positive Partnership from the Start. I’d like to include your ideas on this topic. If you are interested in helping, keep reading!

Specializing in vendor recruitment and team building over my 16 years in the language services industry, I have my own ideas about how to encourage a positive freelancer-agency relationship, but am very interested in what others have to say about it. I am particularly interested in your ideas about when you start such a relationship. Please use the comments field below to share your ideas on this topic.

If you are a freelance translator, what factors are most important to you as you begin a relationship with a translation agency? What makes you feel comfortable? What may turn you off, in the initial stages, from establishing a working relationship with an agency that initially seemed interesting to you?

If you are an agency rep, what is important to you at the beginning of building a relationship with one of your freelance translation providers?

Bodeux Presents for Colorado Translators Association

Eve Bodeux, principal of Bodeux International LLC, presented on Social Media for Translators for the Colorado Translators Association. The event took place Monday, February 22, 2010, from 6-8:30 PM, with co-presenters Corinne McKay and Riccardo Schiaffino. Schiaffino discussed blogging, McKay reviewed how to leverage LinkedIn and Facebook and Bodeux covered using Twitter for business purposes.

Bodeux to add Second Talk in Paris

Eve Lindemuth Bodeux, Principal of Bodeux International LLC, and colleague Corinne McKay will be offering a second seminar while in Paris in March 2010. In addition to presenting on social media for the Société française des traducteurs (SFT), they will also be offering tips and strategies for independent language professionals in France who would like to build up their portfolio of US-based clients.

Bodeux to Present for French Translators Association in Paris, France

Eve Lindemuth Bodeux, Principal of Bodeux International LLC, and colleague Corinne McKay will reprise their social media presentation made at the American Translators Association 50th Anniversary Conference in New York City. This time around, the presentation will be given in Paris, France (in French) for the Société française des traducteurs (SFT) — the national professional association for translators in France.

The presentation will take place on March 13, 2010, and is entitled Web 2.0 for Translators: Maximize your use of Social Media. It will cover how to successfully leverage social media interaction and Internet marketing strategies. Areas discussed will include LinkedIn, Viadeo, Twitter and blogging.

Eve Lindemuth Bodeux, Principal of Bodeux International LLC, will present on the use of social media for professionals in the language industries along with colleagues Corinne McKay and Riccardo Schiaffino.

The presentation will cover the use of LinkedIn, Twitter, blogging and related social media for language industry professionals. The goal is to learn to leverage these tools for increased client and colleague exposure.

This presentation will take place at Front Range Community College in Westminster, CO, on Monday, February 22, 2010. The event is sponsored by the Colorado Translators Association (CTA); members and non-members are welcome to attend. Presentation to begin at 6 p.m. and end at 8:30.

Bodeux Presents at American Translators Association 50th Conference

The American Translators Association (ATA) held its 50th Conference in New York City’s Times Square the last week of October 2009. It was the organization’s most successful conference ever in terms of attendance and media exposure. This accomplishment was likely a result of explosive growth in the translation field as well as the celebratory nature of the organization’s 50th anniversary.

In conjunction with colleagues Corinne McKay and Michael Wahlster, Eve Lindemuth Bodeux, a frequent speaker at ATA conferences and Principal of Bodeux International LLC, gave a presentation about the uses of social networking in today’s business environment to an overflow crowd.
